About this tool

Convert YAML and JSON with syntax feedback and formatting options. Review the output: comments and YAML-specific presentation details do not survive conversion to JSON.

Features:

  • Two-way conversion — YAML to JSON and back
  • Syntax validation — check syntax in both formats
  • Formatting — display output with indentation
  • Nested structures — arrays, objects and nested data
  • Automatic detection — recognize supported data types
  • Copy result — copy output to the clipboard

Use cases:

Convert configuration files and inspect data for API documentation, Docker Compose, CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes manifests.

Reference

Supported data types

  • Strings — quoted, unquoted and multiline strings
  • Numbers — integers, decimals and scientific notation
  • Booleans - true/false, yes/no, on/off
  • Null — null, ~ and empty values

  • Objects — nested data structures

YAML details

  • Indentation — spaces only, not tabs
  • Comments — start with # and are lost during conversion
  • Anchors — &anchor and *reference are resolved
